New Vision Co-op is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Tim Hansberger Memorial Scholarship. Established in memory of Tim Hansberger, the scholarship honors students who demonstrate commitment to agriculture, rural communities, and continued education. Tim dedicated his career to serving agriculture and supporting the cooperative spirit that strengthens rural communities. The Tim Hansberger Memorial Scholarship was established to honor those values and continue his legacy by helping students pursue their educational and career goals.
This year, four outstanding students were selected to receive a $1,500 scholarship to support their continued education.
Brooklyn Talsma
Brooklyn Talsma plans to attend Dordt University and pursue a degree in Animal Science. When asked what value a local cooperative brings to rural communities, Brooklyn shared:
“People in a co-op know and trust each other, and they work as a team which makes the community feel stronger and more connected. Overall, a local cooperative helps farmers succeed and keeps the community strong in a simple, supportive way.”

Benjamin Tentinger will attend Iowa State University and pursue a degree in Agricultural Business. When asked about the value a local cooperative brings to rural communities, Benjamin said:
“A way they provide donations is through scholarships and donations to school programs like FFA and 4-H. Another way they’re important to the community is accessibility to their community.”
