At our recent grower meeting, we hosted Tim Barker, CEO of AgAstra, to introduce two new managed marketing programs for the 2026 crop year. These programs are designed to help you make your first 2026 sale over a year in advance — with confidence and the power of proven trading systems. Tim has spent more than two decades in agricultural trading, specializing in grains like corn, wheat, soybeans — and more recently, cotton and cattle. His roots are in algorithmic trading, developing systems that follow rules to enter and exit positions based on market signals.
In 2017, Tim launched AgAstra to offer disciplined, data-driven marketing tools to farmers. The business has grown entirely by word of mouth, without advertising, and now manages millions of bushels.
Two years ago, Tim’s team took a major step forward: integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their trading strategies. After completing advanced coursework through MIT, Tim began testing AI models that could analyze market data, recognize patterns, and forecast short-term price moves with confidence.
The video below is from our August grower meeeting -- Tim further explains the programs and how they work to help you market your grain.
The deadline to sign up for these programs is September 15, 2025. Contact your grain originator today to find out more.
